Unconventional animal crossing post but I've been keeping tabs on my town remodel and saving screenshots of my map as I go. Thought it'd be interesting to share! I think it makes the whole process feel more rewarding. 🗺️🚧

A little over halfway there! I gotta find spots for three houses (two I have an idea for already), bring the museum and campsite in closer, start the process of my rock garden/dig site (send me the strength, woof) and start putting together my haunted forest/ruins which are going to line the entire backside of my island (leading up to the secret beach). I ordered new amiibos so there will be some different villagers soon, too! 🐐🐙🤖🦩

hey @lets-try-some-writing i've made more stuff, since:

1-i can't control myself or the amount of ideas that just come to my mind XD; and

2- I'm having SO MUCH FUN AND JOY making these and seeing other people also enjoy these :)

So Mars despite his near non existent magnetic field and atmosphere also have aurora borealis, smaler but still aurora...and I just couldn't help myself :D

A little eplenation since Mars doesn't have canon design, I just winged it and tired to mash Ares and a planetary titan, hence why the shoulder pads and skirt flaps both have the surface texture just like Earth, but at the same time are stylized after whatever greek armor Ares have

The big circles on his left arm - that's Olympus Mons: It is Mars's tallest volcano, its tallest planetary mountain, and is approximately the tallest mountain currently discovered in the Solar System. So what's a better use for it than to use it alongside classical ✨transformers mass shifting✨, and turn it into hidden/compressed shield - also borrowed from Ares, but i also think it fits his personality to have one

And now i think my absolute favorite detail: The Markings

I couldn't get your drawing of Convoy with these markings out of my head, and the fact that Mars is old and definitely had an amazing relation with his citizens before departure, so I just thought that it would be really cool and cute if the markings were a gift from his previous citizens. Either during their stay, simply as a "thank you" or "we love you", or as a parting gift, so he could always remeber them the "we're always with you, we'll never forget you" :')

And i had to throw the biolights? the energon lines running on the body (or as I like to call them: "TRON lights". I just love the concept of cybertronians to have such thing, and this is why (among many other things) I love TFP Soundwave and Shockwave and the whole IDW/MTMTE designs :D

Overall I had SO MUCH FUN drawing these AAAAHHHHH and again I'm so happy you like it as much as i enjoy making them

his concern is appreciated, of course --- but as she always seems to, she attempts to play down how she's feeling with a bob of her shoulders. "it's this or climbing the walls i'm afraid," she exhales a laugh, but she knows there's more than a fair bit of truth to it. "but if you'd rather i was hanging from the light fixtures, it can be arranged." sitting idle isn't something she's good at on her best days ----- maybe there's a part of her that thinks if she keeps moving, elgar'nan won't be able to catch up to her again.

So I have a phyical copy of DA: I buut it says on the cover that it needs a hard drive and idk if my secondhand Xbox 360 has a hard drive. None of my other games require a hard drive. I think it does but I'm not sure nor do I know where it would be, if it that's release version of the hard drive or the one someone put in there. The game also has 2 disks and in past experience, games with 2 disks won't play properly. Oblivion has 2 disks but I can't play any of the DLC except Shivering Isles for some reason?? The quest for the Mysterious Door is in my journal but I haven't actually been to the door yet. FrostCrag Spire isn't available at all. I'm playing version 1 of Fallout: New Vegas and I know this cause the cover art armour isn't in the NCR bunker, it's bugged in release version.

The Xbox also keeps asking for an update but idk why it knows it needs an update considering it's not connected to the internet and I think cause this is an older console it needs a LAN cord to be connected to it from the router? Idk. I'm not technologically inclined despite what old folks at work keep saying.

so definitely prompto is the master of buying cheesy gifts between the two of them. he's gotten some really heartfelt ones and ones that prim definitely appreciates (even if they could be considered 'cheap').

the cheesiest thing i'd say prompto has gotten prim was a rosebloom festival card (made up holiday; equivalent to valentine's) while out scavenging during the world of ruin era that had a chocobo on it that said, 'don't chocobreak my heart' -- then she opens it and it says, 'because you're the most in-kweh-dible person i fell in love with!'

on prim's side...she definitely has spent money on him because she has it (perks of having that stipend noble allowance). but i'd say one of the cheesiest gifts she's gotten prompto is a shirt that has a cactuar on it that says 'one-in-a-1000 (needles)'.

there are plenty others. but again, a lot of their gifts tend to fall into the 'heartfelt' range of things. 'tend to' being the important part of that.

things prim has gotten from prompto:

butterfly necklace from the caelum botanical gardens ("you...like butterflies, right? so i just...saw it and, i dunno, thought you'd like it. a memento of our time together!" -- very smooth)

butterfly hairpin (this one a little pricier)

reversible moogle hoodie that turns into a chocobo hoodie (purposefully bought two sizes too big because it was an early high school gift; and she looked very cute in it with it all oversized and such)

fireworks (because teenagers are very smart)

a number of crane game plushies that primam cherishes and has names for (he's very good at games; that's canon)

special screening tickets for a film adaptation of her favorite book series: of winter's grip (something he probably had to ring a radio station a thousand times for when he heard he could win them from it or something)

things that prompto has gotten from prim:

chocobo phone charm (it's dirty and has scuffs on it from having it for years now)

a set of lokton camera lenses that he can swap out with his model ("don't fight me on this and just take them. i already bought them, and i know you've been eyeing them.")

a leather-bound photo album (she said she thought of him and thought he could put photos he really liked in it for a portfolio)

running shoes (his were looking too worn at the time)

a hot sauce variety pack (on a whim; he likes spicy food!)

a coeurl patch (that's on his crownsguard custom; i headcanon he actually had friends help pick out his patches)

{so your post about sun and moon's endo faces moving under the faceplates made me think more about the logistics of 'how do these guys work'. they have such in depth and dynamic voices (the other animatronics as well but sun and moon feels especially important since their faces plates dont move so they need to have really dynamic voice work to get across what theyre feeling to children)

it makes me wonder 1) why were they designed w moving endo faces that are then covered up. what was the point of doing that? do they simply have the same base endoskeleton as the other animatronics? i think that would make sense but still makes me wonder what the design process is like. and 2) how were those voices made to begin with in universe? is there a person who voiced all the soundbites needed to make sun and moons voices? or was it all computer generated since it seems to be a universe w really advanced robotics? i wonder what thatd be like for them to meet that individual that essentially is their voice. was the soundbank made a long time ago or are they still walking around?}

ESPECIALLY the fact about their endos mouths and things moving around... like with the glamrocks or something?? makes sense! they have mouths that open and close when they're speaking. but with sun and moon it's almost like MAYBE, just maybe.... they were ORIGINALLY planned to have faces that DID emote, but got rushed towards the end.

i'm a firm believer in the whole "fazbear got the idea of a daycare to make extra money, came up with these silly jester characters to be the faces of it, then fucking RUSHED that shit to have it opened on time"

like why else would u put two VERY distinct and different AI's into ONE vessel that switches out with the lights?? who thought that was a good idea??

it may have been good on paper, but if u really sit and think about how advanced their programming and stuff is... that is ABSOLUTELY like sticking two hands inside ONE puppet. that shit was not gonna work out efficiently.

but anTYWAYS- NO YEAH, ive thought about that too!! while i'd love to believe sun and moon have their own voices,,, it's clear that with ai generated voices, you can only get a little bit of emotion slapped in there most of the time without it sounding weird. so i'd like to think they probably have people who either worked willingly with fazbear to VA for them. or fazbear just stole little clips here and there when they could and let ai do the rest..?? bc if i remember right, freddy and the gang have a whole bunch of old vhs tapes with cartoons on them from back in the day... so maybe fazbear corp has a whole cast of people that do the voices for these characters, maybe thinking they're only doing it for the films or short episodes. but then the corporation uses them for the actual animatronics as well to give them that lifelike but also animated vibe???? ]]

aaaaa idk if my opinion is even relevant regarding your malenia fic but,,, i also spent like the past few years writing a lot for a game considered by many to be a flop, for a minor character with few appearances, and it’s literally basically a canon x oc fic. and i didn’t share it for years bc i was like “this is unbelievably stupid and self indulgent” but on a whim i decided to share it, and i’ve been blown away by the responses of people who enjoy it. and i feel like you have really great insights about malenia so i’m positive it would be a fantastic read!!! ;; if you ever choose to publish it i hope you link it here :’)

I guess my main problem is I tend to read too much into the overly judgemental fans comments and then it gets in my head and completely discourages me. I really need to learn to not give a shit I know, but it’s kind of hard some times.

That’s really great though that you were able to share your fic! I’m glad people enjoyed it too! It’s always such a nice feeling when people respond in a nice way to the things you care about. To be honest I’m probably overthinking this as I know there are people who are definitely supportive. It’s just unfortunately I get hung up on the negativity. The Elden Ring fans haven’t been the.. uh nicest of people to deal with, and especially when it comes to Malenia people are either just downright awful about her or they get weird about how you portray her.

Anyway enough of me complaining. Thank you again for your message! I’ll admit, it did make me feel a little better actually :’)
